Spring 2008 Registration opens on December 1, 2007

The first season of FPYC Field Hockey will kick off on Sunday, March 30th at Fairfax High School.   Registrants will learn the game of field hockey in 9 clinic sessions from experienced high school coaches, high school players, former high school players and former college players.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration is open for girls and boys in Grades 3 - 8.

 

Players are grouped by age and ability.  We will have 3rd/4th grade teams, 5th/6th grade teams, (beginner and experienced), 7th/8th grade teams (beginner and experienced).

 

We will play every Sunday from 5:30 – 7:00 pm with skills from 5:30 – 6:30 pm and scrimmages from 6:30 – 7:00 pm.  We hope to culminate the season with play against teams of the same level and age group from Loudoun County.

 

The fee for this year is $65 for the first player and $50 for each additional sibling.  Each player will receive a reversible mesh FPYC jersey.

EQUIPMENT

Each athlete will need

  • shinguards (soccer style are fine but there are specially made field hockey shinguards that cover the ankles\

  • cleats or turf shoes (although not necessary, they are recommended)

  • mouthguard (must be molded)

  • stick. 

Each athlete must have all equipment, including reversible jersey at every practice and game.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers are always needed.  Please consider donating some of your time to field hockey.  As always FPYC is staffed and administered on a completely voluntary basis.  We have many openings and welcome your help.
