L. Patrick Laing Scholarship Application

2008

1.                  ELIGIBILITY

A.     The applicant must be a senior at Fairfax, Woodson, Paul VI, Robinson, Lake Braddock, or Oakton High School .

B.     Applicants must be seeking post secondary education.

C.     Applicant must have been member of the Fairfax Police Youth Club at any time.

2.                  SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

A.     A $1000.00 award will be given to the recipient.

B.     The selection shall be made by the Board of Directors of the Fairfax Police Youth Club.

C.     An award check will be issued to the financial aid office of the institution designated by the winner.

3.                  HOW TO APPLY

A.     Application should be submitted to:

B.     One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer, member of the clergy or other community member should be submitted for use by the selection committee.

C.     Each applicant should submit a letter outlining their educational goals which includes biographical information, personal goals, any extracurricular activities and any other information that the applicant feels would benefit the selection committee limited to 1000 words or less.

D.     Please enclose a copy of your official transcript.

E.   Deadline for receiving applications is April 20, 2008.
