Volunteers
Anyone from the ages of fifteen and up are welcome to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach with FPYC Cheerleading.   We prefer that volunteers have cheerleading experience, but all coaches are provided with training and material to help them through the season.
The game-day season starts in August and goes through November.  Practices for the teams vary between the time frame of 6:00-8:00p.m. at Lanier Middle School. The younger teams typically only practice once a week while the older teams practice twice a week.  Games are on Saturdays at Fairfax High School and last about two hours. While there are certain cheers that all the squads must learn, coaches have creative freedom with half-time routines!

The competitive season begins in January and goes through April.  Practices are held  from 6:00-8:00 with occasional practices on weekends as well.  We had three competitions in the 2011 season and expect to have three in the 2012 season as well.

As our program continues to grow the need for coaches gets larger and larger! Please- if you know anyone who might be interested- help us spread the word! Coaching is a very fun and fulfilling experience!

Anyone who is interested in coaching should contact Pamela Hammond at cheerleading@fpycsports.com as soon as possible! We can never have too much help!
