Sample Practice Plans
On this page you'll find sample practice plans and player goals for our 4 age group bands. Each of these plans is designed using recommendations from US Soccer for best practices in curriculum and methodology.
U4-U8: Learning Soccer is Fun
Our goals for these age groups are for players to make new friends while playing creative imaginative games that help players discover that soccer is fun. Through this approach players will discover new individual skills through a welcoming and friendly environment.
U9-U11: Learning to Play
Our goals for these age groups are for players to learn individual technique through 1v1 and 2v2 activities. Some examples of the techniques that will be learned are: ball control, passing, receiving, dribbling/feinting, shooting. Players will be taught when and where tactical decisions are made during the game: when to dribble or pass, how to create space, how to support their teammates when they don't have the ball.
U12-U13: Learning to Compete
Our goals for these age groups are for players to learn how to execute technical skills and make tactical decisions when they have less time and space on the ball. To create game-like situations players will learn through 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 activities.
U15+: Learning to Win
Our goals for these age groups are for players to learn the tactical nuances of the full sided game. Players will explore how positional roles and responsibilities change in different formations, set pieces, and how to anticipate opponents actions in different moments of the game. Players will experience game-like situations through 6v6 and larger activities.
