For our Community, by our Community!
Welcome to FPYC Soccer! Be True, Be Bold - Be Blue and Gold. FPYC Soccer celebrates over 65 years serving our community of Fairfax, Virginia and surrounding areas. Our focus is to create a safe and enjoyable soccer experience for our children. From ages 3 to 19, FPYC has helped our kids develop positive traits such as teamwork and leadership, all while playing the greatest sport on the planet!
FPYC is One Club! Being in such great company with our other FPYC sports; Basketball, Football, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Running and Volleyball. FPYC Soccer shares the great values of our community, as we are run 100% by our community. Existing as a volunteer organization with a success that FPYC has had for so long is something to be proud of. FPYC would never exist without our families or our friends. Thank you, to all that have supported FPYC Soccer in the past, to all that are supporting FPYC Soccer today and beyond. Also, a special welcome to all new volunteers and families who will support our community for years to come. Together, we are all FPYC!
Thank you FPYC! For our community, by our community!

General Season Format Information:
Season length - 10 weeks with 7-8 game weekends
The spring season officially starts on Saturday, April 11 and ends on Saturday, June 6.
Each team typically plays an 8-game season, and the games are on Saturdays. Usually, games are in the morning for the U5 to U10 age groups and mornings & afternoons for the older age groups (U11 & above).
Practice and Game Format
FPYC Mini & Mighty Academy - (U4-U5) Saturday academy style training and small-sided games. (U6) transition to 1 practice or training per week with small-sided games on Saturdays.
FPYC PowerRec Youth (U7-U10) 1-2, depending on coach and training schedules. Duration - 1 hour. Saturday small sided games (U6-U8) and 8v8 games (U9-U10)
FPYC NCSL Rec (U11-U19) Minimum 2, Depending on coach. Duration - 1.5 hours. Games scheduled by NCSL to be played on Saturday (Some Sunday games possible)
Since all our coaches are volunteers, each coach gets to pick their own practice nights and location, which is the main benefit of coaching. Generally, our practices are held within the City of Fairfax or just outside the City of Fairfax limits. All our fields are listed in the soccer page of our website.
Unfortunately, we usually do not have the practice night info when we form teams, so we might have to juggle things around once we know the practice nights of our teams because we do not have this info when we initially release rosters. We do our best to try and accommodate any special requests we receive on our registration forms. Teams are generally formed based on special requests, neighborhood, closest school, or school attended.
Practice schedules will usually be sent to you, by your coach between March 15 and March 27. Most teams will begin practicing March 15.

Respect and Protect our Referees
There continues to be growing concern related to referee abuse. The verbal and sometimes physical abuse that referees encounter throughout the US has led to a massive decline in youth sport referees. Older and more experienced referees are not staying as long as they used to and America’s youth and their parents fear the abuse and therefore do not engage in such a vital role in our sport. Without referees, the match cannot be played.
Soccer is a passionate sport and sometimes the referee is seen as the opposition. This should not be the case. Referees are there to make sure that a game is safe and being played according to the rules.
Sometimes the referee sees something you don't. Sometimes they do make mistakes. That is all that it is, a mistake. Please do your best as members of FPYC to keep it in mind that referees are human and need your support more than they need your criticism.
We want to ensure a safe environment for all participants in our youth sports. This includes our referees. Many of our referees are young and new to the world of officiating.
Just the same as you would not want someone berating your child on the field, please remember that many referees are someone's child as well. Please treat them with the same respect that you want others to treat you and your family.

At this point we have 80 players registered - this program will be run by our partner Golden Boot Soccer.
